I was on a 5B about 1.5 months ago in the evening heading towards Hollingbury at Preston Road (By Stanford Avenue) the driver decided to go straight along via the 5/5A route this totally messed with the passengers minds and the driver soon did a 3 Point turn , Yes! in the middle of the road in a 40 foot Trident! And whats worse the Driver even had his reversing horn switched on :-)

I assume the 5B is the one that now goes via Beaconsfield Villas then? I was born in Brighton and lived there until 1985...at that time only the 46, 46A and 46B went via Beaconsfield Villas.
The 5 group all went via London Road to various Patcham termini, and I think the main variations between 5, 5A and 5B were all at the Hove end...I seem to recall visiting a friend on the 5B route (Sherbourne Road I think)
What's the frequency up Beaconsfield Villas nowdays then?
Thanks for your post :) , Yep 5B's go up Beconsfield Villas :) the frequencey is every 10 mins mon - sat day time and every 20 mins Sundays and 30 mins all days of the week in the evening i.e 7:30 onwards :) The 5B also makes 5 mins combined with its partners 5/5A they run every 10 mins conbined and 20 mins indevidually ohh its very confusing but i hope you get what i am saying :)
Fantastic,he must of either been a new driver or forgot he was a 5b,still we have all done it,i myself was doing a 5 for the first half of my duty and a 46 the second half and forgot to turn into Oxford street,on realising this when i went passed the co-op i did a three ,sorry6 point turn in,at the time, was a gold trident 866 ,very embarrassing, that was along time ago.
